ROLE OF LEADERSHIP STYLE ON PRO-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR: A RESEARCH ON RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN TURKISH PARLIAMENT MEMBERS AND THEIR ADVISORS

Abstract

Today,  for  the  success  of  the  organizations,  the  employees  should  exhibit  formal  roles  as  well  as prosocial behaviours. The increase of diversity and importance of human resources applications force the organizations to do research and to study in this area. In this study, the effect of leadership styles applied by  the  Turkish  Parliament  Members  to  the  prosocial  behaviours  of  advisors  is  investigated.   385 paliament members are reached in the determined space formed by 519 members. The data obtained from survey  were  evaluated  with  Correlation,   (t)  test,  Regression,   Chi-square   and  confirmatory   factor analysis, and the existence of relation is proved statistically. As a conclusion of the study, it is determined that there  is a direct  and negative  relation  with authoritarian  leadership  style and a positive,  linear, strong relation with paternalistic authoritarian and democratic leadership style. Contrary to expectation, there is a negative, linear and strong relation with liberal leadership  style. Also, there is a strong and directly relation between in-role and extra-role of prosocial behaviours.
